Here is the thing I can’t stop thinking about with what’s happened here in Minnesota over the course of the past week: the display of support in the Twin Cities was staggering.  The level of f*cks not given to those who might be offended by this acknowledgement of equal rights under the law was amazing.

But mostly, mostly.  I think about a queer kid, riding in the back of her parents’ car seeing the city lit up like this.  Maybe she hasn’t come out yet, maybe she’s been bullied, at home, at school, for being who she is.  I can only imagine what seeing this would mean.  And then I get teary and proud all over again.

Way to go, Minnesota.  Who’s next?

bolded for emphasis because yes.

beautiful home state!

This is a story of victims, not of perpetrators. Callie: She is a good woman, loves her wife and did all she could to get things back to the way they were that she forgot, a little, that things can’t go back there. She also lost her best friend, the father of her child. She is traumatised too and was acting to fix things to deal with her pain. I don’t think she ever recognised what she lost till now. Arizona: The woman lost her leg - on what planet should she just get over it and move on. She was in a plane crash, her friends died, she was stuck there for 4 days, was rescued and LOST HER LEG. You don’t get over that, doctor or not, just because time passes. She needs to mourn because her life as she knew it ENDED. She needs to rebuild. To figure out who she is. And yes, she cheated but that’s a symptom of a greater disease, not the disease itself. This isn’t a ‘once a cheater always a cheater’ situation. This is a woman with very real emotional problems who inappropriately acted out. And yes, depression and PTSD is a horribly selfish disease, but it’s a disease not an AT WILL STATE! There is a lot of pain these 2 have been carrying and hiding for a whole season. This has festered and it’s necrotised. They need to cut out the diseased flesh and try and salvage what is left. I think they can do it. Especially now they know where they each stand, something that has be sorely missing all season. I can’t blame either of them for what’s happening, but before they can fix their relationship - they need to fix themselves.

New Pet Peeve

people who read 1 article/blog/something and immediately think they know everything about that topic and use the writers’ arguments as their own, without making their own opinions or even really trying to understand what they are talking about.

These might look like real aquatic creatures in captivity, but Singapore-based artist Keng Lye actually used layers of paint and resin to create a life-like, 3D affect.
